While the Bauer 940 성인 골리 마스크 may replace the 940X, these two 마스크s are not even comparable. With a new FiberComp shell and Airflow liner, the 940 is a great option for the performance level goalie.

Shell
The 940 uses a new FiberComp composite shell, bringing a protective and light fiberglass Build t모자 far outperforms the lexan shell of the previous 940X.

Liner
An AirFlow line made of a soft VN foam is designed to keep goalies cool and comfortable throughout the game.

The 940 케이지 utilizes a strong new enhanced 퍽 view wire to suit more goalies sight-lines providing better vision on the ice when compared to previous profile 마스크s.

Chin Cup
The chin cup is Bauer’s IX foam chin cup with elastic stretch providing a comfortable fit and feel.

Sweatband
The sweatband of the 940 마스크 is made of Bauer’s Thermocore material designed to wick away sweat, keeping you cool throughout the ice time.

Certification
With the CSA Straight bar 케이지, the 940 provides both HECC (5 Year expiry) and CSA certification. The 마스크 is suitable for play in both Canada and the USA in the current configuration.

How to Size




Goalie 마스크 Sizing

When purchasing a new 골리 마스크, it is crucial to ensure t모자 it fits properly. Even entry-level 마스크s with a proper fit will do a better job at protecting the head compared to a superior model t모자 is not fitted properly. Unlike other pieces of 골리 equipment, we don't typically size 골리 마스크s for growth as a) it sacrifices protection and b) the foams inside the 마스크 will expand over time creating more room for the head.


W모자 Size 골리 마스크 Am I?


The first step is to approximate your size using the sizing charts listed on any individual 마스크’s product page on our website; usually this is accomplished by matching a head circumference and/or 모자 size to a given 마스크 size. When measuring your head’s circumference, it is important to measure at approximately 1” above the eyebrows while keeping the 테이프 measure parallel (at the “모자 line”) around the entire head. In addition, when using 모자 sizes should be those of fitted 모자s t모자 aren’t overly tight or loose.


Sizing & Fitting A Goal 마스크 Properly


Once a size has been established there are four parameters the goaltender should be looking for:


1) The top edge of the window (opening inside the 케이지) is about 1” above the eyebrows and the sweatband inside the 마스크 sits directly on the skin (ie. there is no gap between the 마스크 and forehead).

2) The backplate hugs the back of the goaltender’s head and its edges don’t extend past the edges of the 마스크’s shell. Here, we want to reduce the possibility for gaps at the back of the goaltender’s head as well as ensuring the head is secure inside the 마스크. It should be noted, t모자 if all other parameters are met as far as fitting is concerned, the backplate extending a little too far isn’t of major concern.

3) The chin cup is tightened such t모자 it is worn securely against the chin and prevents the 마스크 from shifting up and down while on the head.

4) The temples and/or cheeks are snug against the foam of the 마스크 such t모자 there are little to no visible gaps on each side of the head and prevents the 마스크 from shifting laterally while on the head.


Once these have been accounted for an indicator of good fit is if the 마스크 shifts on the head. Try grabbing the 케이지 and shaking the 마스크 back and forth - if the 마스크 forces your head to move (rather than the 마스크 moving on your head) you’ve got a great fit!


General 골리 마스크 Upkeep & Maintenance


Be sure to check your fit every few mon., specifically compressed foams inside the 골리 마스크. You also want to keep an eye on dented 케이지s and stretched harnesses. These will happen overtime through regular use, and can compromise fit and safety. If you are at all worried about the fit or safety of your current 마스크, do not hesitate to contact one of our 골리 experts for advice.
